MJP - Pune

The realisation of a green wall modified to treat greywater in order to reuse the treated water for irrigation is provided on the front of a representative office building (Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran, Water Supply and Sanitation Department of Maharashtra state) in Pulgate, Pune.

The system is able to treat up to 250 l/d. The scheme is the following:

  • Derivation of a greywater pipe from the 1st floor
  • Loading tank with temporised programmable valve
  • Two green bio-walls, each divided into 2 parallel lines, each constituted by two stages in series. Every stage is constituted by 12 parallel frames and every frame is constituted by 3 pots in series. The total vertical area covered by the system is 180x205 cm (3.69 m2)
  • Drainage channel and connection to final storage tank that is equipped with an overflow that discharge the surplus in the soil.

The picture below shows one of the green bio walls installed.
