Biogas production and usage in Kaunas Sewage plant [Accessed: 29.04.2010]

Kaunsas is the second-largest city in Lithuania and is located at the confluence of the two largest Lithuanian rivers, the Nemunas and the Neris, and near the Kaunas reservoir, the largest body of water entirely in Lithuania. In 1999, a large-scale biogas plant (comprising four sedimentation tanks and four anaerobic digesters) was put in operation, being the first sewage plant in Kaunas’ history.
