James Percy Foundation

James Percy Foundation is an independent grant-maker, who is among others focusing on water, sanitation and health (WASH). The foundation's grant-making seeks to support the first years of beneficiaries’ lives, a period during which an individual has less influence on their future and during which it is possible to have a long-term positive impact on a person’s life.

Potential WASH partners should note that they will be asked to provide evidence of having achieved long-term sustainability in previous WASH projects.

Eligible projects should:

  1. Focus on at least one of our Priority Countries and Focus Areas.
  2. Address a significant need. Potential partners should refer to recent data to demonstrate why the project is needed.
  3. Be based on evidence. Potential partners will be asked to provide evidence of the effectiveness of the approach that they would like to adopt in a similar context.
  4. Be sustainable. Potential partners must present a realistic assessment of the sustainability of the proposed project and report thereon.
  5. Represent value for money i.e. economical, efficient, and effective. Wherever possible, should indicate how the costs of the proposed project compare to similar projects and show that the interventions they intend to implement are cost-effective.
  6. Have measurable target outputs and outcomes. Potential partners should provide clear plans for monitoring and evaluating achievement against agreed targets. Project targets must be specific, measurable, realistic and time-bound.
  7. Be likely to achieve impact.

Moreover, grant seekers should be registered as a charity, have an annual income of over £1 million, a proven 3-year track record and be registered in country.
