In this paper, a new biodegradable organic flocculating agent extracted from the juice of prickly pear is used in a physiochemical process (coagulation-flocculation) in order to treat liquid rejections charged with chromium (VI). This bio flocculant helps reduce the turbidity of industrial effluents, making it pass from 100 NTU to values below 2 NTU.
