Sludge Thickening

Sludge thickening consists in the separation of solids and liquids in order to process each separately (e.g. composting for the solid and waste stabilisation ponds or infiltration for the liquid). It can be done in thickening ponds (settling tanks or sedimentation ponds) or planted and unplanted drying beds.
