This lecture gives an overview of the course. Sustainability in relation to water and sanitation is introduced as well as examples of technologies covered by the course. The lecture also brings important information regarding the course structure and how to work your way through the course using the SSWM Toolbox (see also the SSWM Toolbox user manual).
Due to the length of this lecture, the video recordings are divided into two parts. You can access both of them under the important weblinks below.
This book not only identifies the threats to human and ecological health that water pollution has and highlights the consequences of inaction, but also presents opportunities, where appropriate policy and management responses over the short and longer term can trigger employment, support livelihoods, boost public and ecosystem health and contribute to more intelligent water management.CORCORAN, E. ; NELLEMANN, C. ; BAKER, E. ; BOS, R. ; OSBORN, D. ; SAVELLI, H.
